Advertising Copywriter

Underground*—one of the nation’s leading advertising, strategy and design agency for non-profits—seeks a Copywriter. The ideal candidate would be as passionate about ideas and writing as they are about supporting progressive causes. Underground* understands that it's better to use humor to point out the inherent irony of despoiling the environment rather a wagging our collective finger. While Underground* works with a variety of non-profits and foundations, major non-profit experience isn’t as important as clever ideas and a desire to use advertising for good.

Copywriter responsibilities:

Collaborate with Senior Art Directors, Designers to concept ideas for creative work.
Concept, write, proofread and edit headlines and copy for ads, brochures, websites, radio and television spots—experience writing video scripts a plus
Maintain highest possible creative standards;
Provide feedback and input on strategy for creative briefs;
Demonstrate strong leadership and interpersonal skills;
Pursue and develop a professional development plan;
Possess strong research and summarization skills;
Work as team player, and contributes to the positive and productive work environment;
Support and nurture the Mission of Underground*;
Report to Creative Director

Qualifications/Skills
BA plus 2-3 years agency experience or similar;
Conceptual thinker
Uncompromising attention to detail and high level of accuracy;
Excellent proofreading skills;
Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
