* Wendy’s background in both advertising and social work might seem unlikely to some, but it makes perfect sense to the clients at Underground. Wendy developed her strategic and creative skills working with top agencies like Goodby, Silverstein and Partners in San Francisco and Strawberry Frog in Amsterdam. In 2001, she worked in Africa creating communication campaigns for governments and international NGOs including Johns Hopkins University and Academy for Educational Development. After returning to U.S., she left her career in commercial advertising, headed straight for the non-profits and received her Masters in Science in Social Work from Columbia University. Now, with one foot firmly planted in communications and one foot in social program development, she’s back in San Francisco working as Underground’s Campaign Director. She continues to work with international NGOs, most recently in Northern Kenya, and serves as guest faculty at the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena. |
